THE POTENTIAL IS INFINITE....
ABOUT
An entire generation came of age with the indescribable awe of landing on the Moon — and the ensuing Golden Age of Space has changed our world forever for the better. More than 50 years later, what is the next step for humankind? A second golden age of space has quietly dawned on us, with new hope for humanity as a spacefaring species.
In the quest to make human spaceflight accessible within in a decade, not a century, and ultimately affordable to ordinary citizens, leading innovators, entrepreneurs, engineers and daredevils are locked in a race into the unknown. From self-assembling habitats, commercial space stations, launching rockets without fuel to building the Lunar Gateway to deep space, history is in the making as we speak.
Space: The New Frontier captures a time as epic as the Giant Screen, and as real as our present moment. Come aboard: life on earth or in space will not be the same again.
EDUCATION + STEM OUTREACH
Get the most out of Space: The New Frontier through an educator’s guide with hand-on activities that make Next Generation Science Standards come to life in classrooms.
The guide is designed for teachers, community group leaders and museum educators who work with elementary to middle school-aged students.
We have also included a “Can You Find These in the Film?” activity for the day of your visit, and a brief overview of the film to support your follow-up activities along with additional resources at the end of the guide. Be sure to check out the “How do you build a sustainable space station?” activity, for a chance to receive free books by sending a photo of your model and explanation of the modules.
We’re also collaborating with space engineers and architects at Aurelia Institute, seen in the film, on virtual and in-person STEM talks at science center venues. Spun out of research at MIT, Aurelia Institute is a nonprofit space architecture R&D lab, education and outreach center, and policy hub dedicated to building humanity’s future in space.
